I received a book called “Dear Latina Trailblazers” after attending an online meeting organized by We All Grow Latina and HBO Max Pa'lante. This book was created to honor the book “The Soul Woman'' by Isabel Allende. It is a compilation of letters written by Latinas that are role models and have opened doors to others. So having this book in my hands I decided to open it to a random page, it was a letter, written by a Latina Trailblazer, the story and message of the letter touched me so deeply that I couldn't wait to discover the next, and then the next. I cried, I laughed, I felt chills, I felt empowered...each story had crossed an ocean, surviving dark nights, sharks, sea monsters, storms, giant waves...and yet each one had managed to reach land, eager to share the story.
So, I spoke to a group of PineApple Ambassadors, teenage girls who are volunteers for PineApple Women, and we agreed that we would send each letter to a girl so that these messages would be discovered. Months later, in the responses we read:

I call this impact… a much needed one. A declaration to let girls know that they are not alone; that many of us, even those of us who seem invincible, have felt the doubtful and strong voice that dresses our dreams as impossible. Dreams are possible, very possible if we learn to:
Love yourself
Inspire yourself
Be kind
Look for kindness
Be kind to yourself
Know that you will get up again
Find yourself
Be you
Believe in yourself
Hope
Do
Share
Voice yourself
Empower yourself and the girl right next you
Work for “you” first, for your dreams
Know that you are important
Know that you matter to us
Know you are important
Prioritize yourself
Understand that we need you as you are
Dream, dream bigger
These are the messages I found in every letter I read from Dear Latina Trailblazer. I had no doubt in my heart that I was not the only one who needed to unbottle these powerful messages.

Recibí un libro llamado “Dear Latina Trailblazers” después de asistir a un encuentro online organizado por We All Grow Latina y HBO Max Palante. Este libro fue creado en homenaje al libro “La Mujer del Alma'' de Isabel Allende. Es una compilación de cartas escritas por latinas que son modelos a seguir y han abierto puertas a otras. Teniéndolo en mis manos decidí abrirlo en una página al azar, era una carta, escrita por una Latina Trailblazer. La historia y el mensaje de la carta me conmovieron tan profundamente que no podía esperar a descubrir la siguiente y la siguiente. Lloré, reí, sentí escalofríos, me sentí empoderada… cada historia había nadado un mar entero, cada historia había sobrevivido a unas noches oscuras, tiburones, monstruos marinos, temblores, tormentas, rompientes… pero cada una había logrado encontrar tierra, ansiosa por compartir la historia.
Así que hablé con un grupo de PineApple Ambassadors, chicas adolescentes que son voluntarias de PineApple Women, y acordamos que le enviaríamos cada carta a una niña para que estos mensajes fueran descubiertos. En las respuestas leímos:

Esto es impactó! Y uno muy necesario. Una declaración para que las niñas sepan que no están solas; que muchas de nosotras, incluso las que parecemos invencibles, hemos sentido la dudosa y fuerte voz que viste nuestros sueños como imposibles. Los sueños son posibles, muy posibles si aprendemos a:
Amarnos
Inspírarnos
Ser amable
Buscar bondad
Ser amable con si misma
Entender que te levantarás de nuevo
Encontrarnos
Ser tú
Creer en ti misma
A tener esperanza
Hacer
Compartir
Levantar la voz
Empoderarse a sí misma y a la chica que está a tu lado
Trabajar en y para “ti” primero, por tus sueños
Entender que somos importantes
Priorizarnos
Entender que eres importante para nosotras
Entender que eres importante
Entender que te necesitamos como eres
Soñar, soñar más grande
Estos son los mensajes que encontré en cada carta que leí de “Dear Latina Trailblazer”. Y leyendo cada uno entendí que no era yo la única que necesitaba desembotellar estos poderosos mensajes.
